Meet the team – Key People
Barry Usher
Barry Usher studied Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Limerick where he graduated with an honours degree in 2003. As part of this course he completed his cooperative education with Airbus in their customer service directorate in France.
After graduating in 2003 Barry returned to General Aviation and commenced work as a full time aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed this work so much that he decided it would be a worthwhile exercise to gain a qualification for it so he embarked on three years of self study and hard work before applying to the Irish Aviation Authority for his Basic Aeronautical Engineering Certificates in airframe and powerplant categories and eventually received an Irish license with airframe and powerplant type ratings. This license was subsequently converted into an EASA B1 license on which Barry holds type ratings on the majority of general aviation aircraft. He also obtained his US FAA Mechanics license for maintenance of N registered aircraft and his private pilots’ license under the privileges of which he frequently flies a wide variety of aircraft including all complex and high performance single engine aircraft.
